OK. So "....C...." and "....A...." is Buick engines?

I also think I saw a VIN starting with "3T07U8U...", an Olds Starfire Hatch ´78 with a Chevy 5.0 ?

Thanks

Interesting,...if that was a 78 it would have been built on the same day as mine.

This one is indeed a 79 V8 sport model, The 98,214th monza built. Probably assembled some time in May of 79.

Trim tag* date codes should read approximately 05a and the line sequence code should be around the number 75 - xxxx. The trim tag will also say "02BLK" or 02GLD if it's a factory built spyder. These cars usually have buildsheets under the carpet and behind interior door panels.

Hope this helps, send pics!

Just for the record, the VIN should be 1R07G97I982I4, that is 1st and 3rd characters is a always a digit, "1" and "0" in this case.

Agree with Marco, pics please! :D

Resurrecting this post to get some information prior to my first car show! My VIN is 1M27AA7289254 Sched. no. date at the top left of the build sheet is
82-3415 10-17. I've looked at Marco's posts and I think I understand my car to be the 189254 Monza made in '80, possibly made on Oct. 17, 1980, is this correct? Brian's Monza page says that there were 169418 made that year, why the discrepancy?

I'm really just trying to get a firm build date and production number for my car, attached is the trim tag if it helps.

Rick

Shouldn´t your Monza be the 289254 :th made? Maybe you just misspelled the serial number. But there is still (even bigger) discrepancy
