Here is a picture of my 77 Skyhawk tag. I would appreciate the decoding of the 19A and 11b codes at the end of the tag. The car was painted white and I dont have a buildsheet to determine if it had stripes or whatever. Thanks TIM

The black stripe just went along the body length between the bumpers, just a thin accent stripe above the wheels

Here's the tag for the new bird... I got that the 11's are the White paint code :)

Your bird was 2533 unit's away from the last one in 1979. Almost an '80.

Built during the 3rd week of august 1979, about 7 days before production of 1980 models began.

Welcome to H-Body and congrats on your 'new' Monza.

I think you do not have a true Spyder, the 13U and 13L represent the exterior colour (Silver) with a 19V (black) vinyl interior. if it were a Spyder, you would have an 01 or 02 on that line or on a 4th line below it.

Body Tag from one of my 72 Vega Kammback's

ST 72 14115 LOA480614 BDY
TR 866 68 68 PNT
07B A51

68 68 - Midnight Bronze upper and lower paint
07B - Built second week of July
A51 - Bucket seats (is there any Vega that doesn't have this?)

Trim Code 866 ?? What the heck is this? I can't find any reference to this anywhere.

From what I can gether about the early Vega interior trim codes (71-74) is that they were 3-number codes (not lettered and numbered like the later 2nd Gen ones. 866 would be an interior trim code. I don't have it listed on the production numbers I have for 1972 (Actually I have NO Vega interior codes for '72, just option codes numbers.). I guess that partially answers your question.

Thanks,

Where did you get that info? The H-Body FAQ really lacks a lot of this info.

I was going to ask the same question too, lol.

The H-Body FAQ's are quite old and dated and a lot of new info has appeared in the last few years. The FAQs just need someone to go through and make some updates, but that is A LOT of work. I should know, keeping my 2nd Gen H-Body website going seems endless.

Another try at finding the source of this info. I have a few body tags I would like to decode.

I remember seeing these codes in a book, about 20 years ago...

It was something like the history of Firebirds... or something like that... I cant remember other than the cover was red, and it had to do mainly with Pontiacs or Firebirds, and it was similar to those complete history of Chevrolet books.

Anyhow, it had all the 3 digit interior codes from the 70's listed... Thats how I found out about leather seats being an option in monza's.
