5.0L 305 V8 engine owners!

You guys that have factory 5.0L 305 powerplants in your Monzas, Starfires or Sunbirds, what is the engine code letter in your VIN#?
I'm trying to complete the VIN# decoder and this is a sticking point.
The engine code on your VIN# is the 5th character (a letter)
So far I have a 76 with a Q, a 77 with a U and a 79 with a G but I need more figures from all years!!!!!
I need the year of your car and the engine code letter, please and Thank You!

Looks like this could be the case

76 - Q
77 - U
78 - U
79 - G

Not sure why the changes but so far that is what I'm seeing. Still would like others to chime in, just in case something unusual pops up.

All though I bought my bird brand new in 78, I don't have the build sheet and I don't know where my trim tag is located, but the serial # is 2 MO7U 8U573968 if that's helpful.

The Trim Tag (or Cowl Tag) is found on the driver's side under the hood on your cowl. it is a body colour tag with stamped numbers and letters. If you can get a pic of that tag, it would help us out with decoding Trim Tags etc.

Have you ever had the drivers side door panel off? That's where I found my build sheet.
my number ends 552578.Does that mean 92turbogtz's car was 21,390 units after mine? How many days is that?
