Postby monza75tc » Sun May 24, 2009 10:22 pm

Ok, now does anybody have a monza that is this color? The 79 that my engine was this color with tan interior and some minor stripes, I am trying to locate a picture, but everything is in boxes and Haven't Seen the pictures for a while.

Dick

Pastel Green # 40

Probable be on a 79 or so.

Just wondering.

I think it was code #44?? medium green metallic.

A pretty light green color.

I think the 80 models got a dark green.

Nope Marco,

No metallic in it at all. Saw it listed in the GM color codes as Pastel Green #40, although it was in just the regular GM color code listing: http://www.paintcodes.net/gm-paint-codes-1979.html . Just had not seen any other Monza's that color on this site and was wondering if there were any around that color.

Apparently it was the least popular code on Camaro's for 79: http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro79.php#paint

Just wondering about it for the Monza. I will get a picture posted eventially, as I know I have some, just cannot find them.

I dont think it was available on the monza.

Its close cousin, 44, was the least popular color for 1978 monza's...with only something like 4500 produced, while most other colors were spread over 10k- 15k cars. I have all the numbers on my restorers packet, wherever that is.

As I say, it has been the only one that I have seen. It had no metallic in it at all. I will continue to look for the pictures and scan them in. We are in the process of moving locally here, and will try to locate the box I have them in. Unfortunately I do not have any information on it, I might have the Title someplace as it was crushed after I stripped it. It was a 79, not 78. As a matter of fact, notice the front facia on this picture.

Do you recall how many 78 Monzas were produced with #48? Just wondering since that's the paint code on my car.

Yes Chevrolet says...6,644 were code #48. Black and Yellow were also in the 6k range.

The most popular was - ahem.. light blue, @ 16,757 Silver and Carmine were the next most popular.

My old 79 2+2 had that color or atleast one very close to it. The interior was green as well. Not my favorite combination of colors that was for sure lol

In the pics I have it is kinda hard to see the green as it almost looks white. I have more pics if anyone wants them. I may have some that show the color a little better then these too somewhere.

Well.. do you also got informations about the production numbers and the color breakdown of the '75 Vega ? My car got the 51 code (bright yellow) and it would be interesting how many were built in this color...

Thanks,
Steffen

The colour your looking for in 40L&40U Light Green and only 3,807 Monzas were painted this colour, the least popular of the 14 offered for 1979.

The #48 for 1978 was "Dark Blue-Green Metallic" and there were 6,644 Monzas painted that colour.

Oops, Marco beat me to the punch!
