Inside door paint question

Postby BigD » Wed Aug 05, 2009 9:26 am

My Vega has a black interior and the doors above the door panels were painted flat black. For the life of me I can't remember were the black was painted to on the ends. Does anyone have pics or could take pics so I could paint mine correctly? I attached pics of the areas I am talking about. Thx, Darrin

You kind of have to make your own break lines. I just duplicated the factory break, but you don't get the luxury!

If nobody beats me to it before I get home tonight, I might be able to take some pics.

figure just about 3/4" under the lip where the door panel is , that should be enough to hidden by the door panel

ive gotta do mine , got no idea why its done in a egg shell white , though the headliner is also white

Thanks, looking at your pic of the front of the door and a pic I found of mine at the rear, I 'think, I have it figured out. Darrin

I took some pics of mine last night, and I would've posted them but photobucket was down.

At the rear it's a straight shot from the divide line, then it shoots horizontally to under the weather strip. Up front it's a little different. I don't have the pics with me at work unfortunately.

Man, actually looking back at it mine are kind of ugly! I might have to go back and touch them up someday. But you get the general idea. They basically shoot straight across.

Here's a picture that might help. Unrestored door.

Its got just a little texture to it. Not smooth at all. When I redo the inerior, I think I am going to use a spray can of textured gloss black. Not "wrinkled" either.
