Monza Mirage Colour Availability

Postby fyrftr50 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 12:59 pm

I just got a Chevrolet Dealer Ordering Guide for the 1977 model year. There is some interesting information to be found in here but something popped up right away.

Taken from Issue #26 of the Louisville Zone Distribution Newsletter, dated May 6, 1977

MONZA MIRAGE COLOUR AVAILABILITY
In response to many field requests for additional colour choices on the Monza Mirage, Michigan Automotive Techniques Inc. has informed us that effective immediately the following new colour combinations can be ordered:

Exterior Paint Colour Code
Lower....Upper....Body Colour....Stripe Colour
13........13........Silver...........Dark Red Metallic
19........19........Black...........Gold
75........75........Light Red......Gold

To obtain any of the new combinations, simply insert the desired colour code on the Chevrolet Order Form. Stripe Colour is automatically determined by the body colour as shown on the chart above. The actual stripe design remains the same as contained in the original red, white and blue colour scheme which is still available. Any interior compatable with the new colours may be ordered.

Sorry guys, they spelt it COLOR, but since I am a Canuck and I'm typing this post, it gets spelt MY way, LOL.

I haven't really looked at it that closely and was only checking out the Monza stuff. Vega info will have to wait since the 2nd Gen's are my thing.

What I'm surprised about is that at least 1 of every color hasn't surfaced yet.

You'd think there would even be stories of a Red/Gold one somewhere, maybe even some pictures..

I know someone mentioned a seeing a possible silver one a few years back...

Having spent 13 out of 24+ years in Europe, of which 3 were in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England also working with The Brits a good many of the rest of the 10 years. I also made regular visits to the NAFFI (Brit BX). Plus I have only been Alabama for just over 3 years, sometimes it is still hard to understand and speak southern.
