Brian (Stage169) can you post those pic's as they are to cool to lose, the post will go away in 90, days and I haven't figured out how to do ebay pic's. The first pic must be an early piece from permanent tooling and the 2nd one a manually machined carb (Numerical Control was all that was available in '74 they hadn't added Computer to the machines yet, (and NC was still rare then as opposed to CNC today) from "Billet Aluminum" that is off the charts cool !!!! Brian You DA MAN! With my job I do see some preproduction stuff but nothing even remotely close to as cool as those carbs, That just blows me away! I am very surprised that they survived, I can't believe the things the manufacturers through away. And yes I use windows and IE and you are one brave Mo... F r to try and help me with a computer. I have the patience to grind a round pin down to 0.030" and hold a tolerance of 0.0001 dia. but computers need to be BEATEN!!!!!!!!! Sorry I was just thinking about it and see what happens. Monzaaddict is the H body rotary King I have talked to a guy who drove Vega's with the wankel in it from GM. He did drive train testing at Borg Warner in Muncie IN. I hoped that he might of saved some pictures or something but he didn't. He has enjoyed the pictures Monzaaddict has found though!

I knew I had seen the same style front plate. Maybe same car?

That is why I am a Monza Guy now! I can't believe how well that nose fits! They were completely different to everything except the "Vette" at that time and basically a V8 Vega with futuristic styling and within a few years everything was "Aero". The emblem on the fender appears to be a corvair spyder emblem.

I'm not sure if that's a Spyder emblem or not on the side there... wasn't there a prototype with the Chaparral (sp?) name on the side at one time? (I admit, that emblem on the side doesn't really even look like Chaparral either...)

Monzaaddict that is a sweet combo and I want that too, but a $275 ask, is a little too rich for my pocket book. Good Luck on that acquisition, that will be a killer score if they let you buy it for your price. Thanx for posting, these always make me think I could have it too some day! Harry

Back when Ebay was still fairly new and the first couple NOS Spyder emblems came up for auction, I paid $250 for one of the 4 NOS emblems I've purchased through the years. $275 for this one doesn't seem too bad in comparison, considering it's probably the only living version of this emblem.

Nice find! Both are really cool! Would be nice to talk to the engineer!

I still need a zillion other H body items but if they were running I would buy it
