Can I use a chevy s-10 power steering box in my 79 Spyder without any issues?

The only two issues of concern are:

The input spline will probably be different, but a u-joint will cure that.

The hoses use o-ring fittings, so custom hoses will be required. I am using Teflon-lined steel braided hoses with the proper AN fittings.

But, yes, your pitman arm will fit, and it will bolt to the chassis.

I put a 12:1 ratio Monte Carlo SS gearbox in my Vega and am no longer considering a rack-and-pinion swap. In fact, I'm considering this upgrade for my Cosworth, as well. S-10 Warehouse on eBay offers used S-10 ZQ8 quick-ratio gearboxes.

FYI,
From what I could find, you could also use a sport box from a 3rd gen F-body. Theirs will have 2 1/2 turns lock to lock, vs the ZQ8 which has 3 lock to lock. All other specs appear to be the same.
