Even if your car already is a GT, there are a few differences in the wiring between 72 and 75, most notably the switch from an ammeter(72) to a voltmeter(75). This may not sound like a big deal, but with an ammeter ALL the 12 volt power back and forth from the battery flows through the gauge, while a voltmeter is just tapped into the ignition+. This means the under hood harness is different as well, even if your swapping GT to GT.
