th350 on Spyder

The bracket for a th350 positions the cable too far back to hook up . Does that mean it's a cable for a 6 cylinder?

Not likely, a bracket for a TH350 should still fit the TH350 as the tranny doesn't move fore or aft just because of an engine swap. It's either you have the bracket installed incorrectly or it's a bracket for another trans like a TH200.

There was a cable design change around 1977. The first design cable has no rubber sleeve at the bottom, the second design has a rubber sleeve. There are also different brackets for each one on the trans. What cable do you have?

Got this shifter cable from a monza in the junkyard with no tranny. It is short and It's a stock shifter. It says L1 L2 and D. so it's gotta be a 3-speed. Picked up a th350 cable for a 74 Camaro at Auto zone this morning and it's only 32 inches long. Doesn't seem long enough but I'm gonna try it. If it's the same lenth as the one I've got then I'm gonna have to drill some holes in the cable bracket to make it work. Still really need to know if the bracket bolts to the side of the tranny or the pan. Any pics would help folks. I know most of yours are automatic.Thanks.

The H body had a specific bracket and cable so if you are mixing and matching parts you may have to do some mods.

Good God! G.M made some last minute decisions on that car I've noticed.
