Auxiliary Lighting option

Postby jed14 » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:04 pm

What specifically was included in this option? Does anyone have pics of the items?

Thanks

I ordered that on my car, I think it just included a light in the glove box and one under the hood. This is on a hatchback. Not sure if maybe it included a trunk lamp on notchbacks?

My 76 Kammback has this option. It has the underhood light, glove box light, and a light at the rear hatch.

The lighting option on H bodies didn't include under dash lights but I did add a couple of those. It makes it nice at night to have the extra lighting.

This is off my 76 Vega GT Kammback. Saved it from the crusher. Should be on the road shortly.

Here is a pic of the glove box light.

Here is the rear hatch light (Kammback). There isn't a button to automatically turn on, instead it has a switch on the left side. The lens is missing. I would like to replace it if anybody knows a part number or interchangeable lenses.

It is. This light is mounted in the plastic housing piece in front of the hatch (same pieces that cover the hinges and torsion rods. It is mounted right in the middle.

You are right. It looks almost exactly the same except the ones I found don't have a switch. If anybody else can give me some clues as a source for these or the lens, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

I probably should have done this earlier. I removed it and found a part number on it: 6732781

Googled and found nothing, but part number for the el Camino dome light, 8732781, looks exactly like it except for the switch. I looked really close at the part number on mine and that first number looks exactly like a "6". Not sure if it is molded wrong, or if mine is just the same one modified with the switch.

Thanks, I was thinking of getting one for the el Camino off ebay and just cutting out the part for the switch. I am wondering if that is what the original one looked like.

I don't know about the El Camino one, obviously there must have been some remote switch to turn it on. Are you in need of just the lense or the whole thing? Did you get that part number off the lense or the base?
