Would be nice to know more about it. Does put it in the time frame of Chevy doing different colors for the Mirage. Who wants to chip in and do a Resto Report on this car? We know a black one existed.

Any Mirage owners every purchased a resto report?

I would imagine that car in black would have looked terrible sitting on the showroom floor. The Mirage panels were anything but straight, The only forgiving grace is that they were white and didn't show it.

Ya, I wasn't much of a photographer back then. There wasnt much else to see, the panels were all stripped off the car. That pic is old, and that heyday of H bodies in that yard has long since passed. As a matter of fact the story has it that that yard is finally closing up :(. A pic of the interior would have been good to have.

In other posts, people have suggested it's maybe just a repaint. It was not. The doors were original and had the MAT sticker still intact, and under the hatch carpet you could see the original sprayed color was indeed black.

There's a little strip of metal that ties the rear facia to the body on the top edge when installed. (near the hatch lock). During painting at the factory this strip is laying in the trunk, to get a coat of body color paint. There is usually the stencil of this piece on the hatch floor underneath the carpet.

Hey Guys,
New around here, and new to the "H" bodies themselves. Was that yard in the photos near WIlkes Barre PA? Looks very familiar

Hi John, welcome to the site.

No, the yard pictured is up near Rochester, Ny. I've been to the ones near Wilkes Barre. Great place there for cars! "Harry's U-Pull-IT" in Hazelton is a great place.

There was a place in Nuangola north of Harrys about 15 miles right off the interstate,(on the west side of 84) named Englers Auto Salvage/Used Cars, that looked just the view in your photo, same angle to the sun and all. He crushed some can't say I blame him with the price of scrap, and kept a small portion of the yard going

I must be having, yet another, brain fart ... we already know there was another black Mirage out there??? I'd chip in a few bucks for a resto pack for this car.

I'm game! I hope a member here with a Mirage has gotten a resto pack and would post it so we can see what kind of info GM Canada has. Hopefully it would show the ZX1 RPO.

I thought he made his ( wasn't original).

I would think it would have to have that RPO Code present on the report since it would have had to be ordered from the dealership that way in order to get it to MAT.

My luck there would be more questions than answers. It would be nice to see a Mirage resto pack just to get a clue.

Marco you had one pic of this black Mirage that showed the front passanger side headlight bezels. They weren't blacked out? Odds are you don't remember about the drivers side?
