Hmmm... Maybe this 75 LX deserves another look. I have no idea how to fix the roof rust, though.

Looks like it needs a new roof covering anyway....one of the rarest Vegas!

Gee; who knew? My 1977 Vega Estate is actually kind of rare. Too bad the woodgrain is going away(the whole left side was already peeled off and all the trim missing when I bought it). And I'm still putting a V8 into it(or am I allowed to even speak of that in this "Factory Original Purist" section?).
Also, does the 18 years of accumulated crud all over it qualify is as a genuine "barn find"? Even if I found it in my own barn(garage)?

I would have liked to be able to keep it as a woody, as I'm sure the vinyl could be found somewhere, but tracking down the missing trim would have been a nightmare. I'll have to settle for turning it into a pretend GT; I have a cluster, steering wheel, a bunch of badges and the lower trim from the many GT's I parted out back in the day. The tragic part of this story is that I parted out 3 or 4 woody Vegas and kept a complete set of the woodgrain trim for a few years; I must have chucked it out somewhere along the way because I can't find it now that I need it.

I saw no mention of the very rare Vega Nomad Wagon. As I understand it they were sent out as one per dealership.

The Nomads were produced under an "RPO" number which Bob did not include in this list. Somewhere on the forum there is a topic on the Nomads which lists production numbers, I believe, and I'm pretty sure it was way less than one per dealer. Unfortunately no one seemed to save the Nomads, which I think is a pretty neat package. I have two in my inventory, but they are basket cases like all the other ones I have seen.

I seem to recall this one on the board here, now for sale on eBay. This is a nice looking car for way too little money Harry http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Other ... ars_Trucks

In 1973 there were 58,425 Notchback Vega's made and from that 3,705 had the Z04 RPO code for the LX option. Low percentages too.

What does low percentages mean? Do you have any detailed photos of a 73? Specifically the lx emblem or decal, I can't find any photos clear enough too see what it looks like.

As I remember, the 73 "XL" emblems were only 2D decals whereas the 74-75 used chrome plated cast 3D with red letter insert emblems. Could be wrong. Been too long!
