Looking for Photos of "11V" Interior for 1977 Monza

Postby R07Addict » Tue Jul 15, 2014 2:58 pm

Hello,

I am new to the site but a longtime H-Body enthusiast (bought my first one in 1978). I have a 1R07U7 Monza that I am looking at getting back on the road and am in the planning stages. It is pretty rough and until I start tearing into it, I won't decide if I will try and do a restoration or a resto-mod. For example, right now it is a horrid orange color with a crusty black interior but the plate says it was originally a Bright Yellow, Blackout treatment on the B pillar, and a white interior with black accents (51L 51U 11V). Can any post, or point me to pictures already posted, of the above mentioned interior. Thanks in advance.

Mike I won't be much help but I do know that less than 2k Monza's for 77 had that interior. I'm guessing it would be like the bottom left interior in this brochure picture for 77 except of course black accents. Brian

I have a white passenger seat from a 76 11v interior. Same seat I believe. I also have the back seats but the accent color is green.

Ok.. I'm kind of embarrassed for a couple reasons... I didn't immediately recognize the 11V RPO... and secondly because I now have to show you the filthy pictures of my 11V interior that's been ransacked by mice for the last 10+ years. (I promise you it cleans up really beautifly and is already sweeped out and looks much better, but these are the only pics I have at the moment)
I took these pictures a week or so ago when I took the car parts and seat covers out, but before I cleaned the interior. If you would like any close-ups or better pics, just let me know and I can take more.

Here is my build sheet:

That is awesome and thank you everyone for the response. I picked up this Monza a few years ago as a parts car but got it running and have been kicking around the idea of trying to clean up the decades of abuse and ugly modifications and getting it roadworthy. Over the years, some past owner either replaced the interior with all black or they dyed it. And when I saw the 11V RPO code, I couldn't picture it. I really like that look, mahoy78spyder. Thank you.

Now I may be going in a different direction. I am picking up another "parts car" which is a '77 Nighthawk. Since it is a rarer model, I may go back to the idea of using the '77 Monza as a parts car to feed the Nighthawk. It is times like this when I am so glad that my first car in high school was a H-Body and not some exotic car that would be resulting in a very expensive mid-life car hobby!

Thanks again.

You're welcome... I love the 11V interior... I had a Skyhawk with that same interior that was another Astroroof C06 car, but was orange on the outside. I'm kind of partial to glass roof's and white interiors. ;-)

Now.... I hate to say this, but if that Nighthawk is anywhere NEAR restorable, I would save it. They are more rare than you can imagine. Do you have any pics?

YellowMonza,

In case you haven't seen it yet... check out this page. Your Nighthawk was a one-year only option and was one of only 1,383 made that year. So few even still exist today.

Ok... back on topic.

I just found this tonight in the closet... an old photo album of mine that ranges in dates from the mid-80's to the early 90's. Here is a couple pics of the 11V interior (from the outside unfortunately) of my old C06 '76 Skyhawk. (it had the black accents as well) Even from a distance, I think that interior looks fine. :th:

I agree . . . that is an attractive interior. Thank you for sharing.

Regarding the Nighthawk . . . I know it is a rare one and yes, I have spent hours on Bryan's website over the years.

I will post pics as soon as I can. Honestly, I am buying this thing sight unseen. The owner is moving out of state and getting rid of "stuff." I get the car tomorrow. I was buying it as a roller for $150 and my plan was to use any parts I needed - glass, interior parts, etc. - on my Monza and since this Buick had A/C and P/S, figured I'd "upgrade" at the same time. But I ended up talking the guy into leaving the engine and tranny so the only thing that he pulled for his Vega project was the radiator and the front and rear sway bars.

If it is not too much of a "parts car" I am hoping to have one of the 1,383 in my garage and on the road again one day. BTW, I found another twin to this one about an hour away from me that I might go look at. Times like this I wish there was more hours in the day and more money in the bank

Uh oh, Mike, looks like someone's on to your two Nighthawks. Better get 'em quick before they get snatched up!

I got them "both" because it was one in the same car . . . This poor car has been passed around this week like a cheap date. But I am planning on treating her real nice :)
