The Rubber part of the mounts are from a 66 Chevy pickup or something like that. Maybe you can get them to send the stands to you for a slight discount, and get your own mounts.

I just checked on checkerauto.com and most of theirs they said would ship in 1-2 days. You might want to just order from a parts store.

Look I hate to be a naysayer but I think you are in for a disapointment. If I understand correctly, you ordered a pair of stock V8 mounts from Checker? I think you had a person on the other end of the phone that was beyond clueless. If (and I don't think so) I am wrong three cheers to Checker and I will be placing my order as soon as you tell us they have the correct mounts. :-)

Like I said I don't want to be a naysayer. The mounts that Bob sales are the only ones that I know of unless you want to fab your own. I realize it may not help but Bob is full time military and as you can imagine gets a bit busy at times. To my knowledge he is very honorable and has never screwed anyone on a parts deal. There where plans floating around on how to modify a worn out set of original V8 mounts, maybe someone has them if that would help. In the mean time I would hold tight on Bobs mounts.

Motor Mounts

I don't know if this will help or not but Hooker makes them Part no.
HOK-12608HKR (kind of pricey) and you can buy them through Summit 1-800-230-3030. Summit also carries Tran-Dapt which will tell you they don't fit the Monza but I believe someone tried it and
it worked (about 100 bucks) Part no. TRD-4686. There is a small amount of welding involved, but very simple.
You might try Don Hardy because they still make them for the Vega's Part No. #09-115 and you can reach them at 806-983-3774, about 150 bucks, they work with standard chevy motor mounts. You can call and ask them if they work with a Monza. So there are a few options.
I don't know if this will help or not but don't give up these little cars are a lot of fun once you get everything together.
Good Luck.

Darrell, here is another option. This is a link to a page that shows you how to fab new mounts.

http://norra37.com/photos/monza/renover ... mounts.htm

I hope this helps.

As far as going back to Monte Carlos and Camaros.....think how much money you would need to spend to get them as light as an h-body.....or as good looking for that matter (ok that one is more of an opinion)

Seriously though --- parts for these cars can be hard to come by. I think that is one of the reasons some of us are drawn to them . They are unique without being totally weird - the drivetrain is all pretty straight forward GM. Try restoring a 27 year old Fiat.....I bet some of those parts are tough to come by too :)

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the Hooker mounts a front engine mount style? If you are looking for a stock side engine mount these are different. The ones Bob sells are made from one half of a H-body mount and the other half off a mid 60's truck I believe. As far as getting stock side engine mounts from a parts store, forget it, you are not going to get those.

Hooker , Trans Dapt and others made front engine swap kits for H-bodies that used a front engine mount arrangement. They bolt to the front of the engine and then to the frame rail. I do not believe you are going to get a side engine mount from Summit, but if you do let us know.
