That thing is comming along real good. The dash is neat and something I would never think of. You need to update your avitar picture.

We are doing a lot of little things on the car now and there is not much to tell. I only work on that project one day a week so, progress is slow. Should have some new pictures in the next week or two. I am also working on a big block Ford, SORRY everyone, and that is taking some of my time off the Vega. We should have the final dash pictures soon.

This is what is taking some of our time off of the Vega project. I thought that you would appreciate this project.

Icky blue oval! I wouldn't own a Ford let alone take time off an H-body project to work on the Ford. But that's just me. Don't be offended

No, I am not offended. I like them all, Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Honda, etcetera, etcetera. I can appreciate your opinion. We have all been in the argument Chevy VS Ford, Import VS domestic and so on. This is what makes the car hobby fun.

I don't know why but I never ever liked Fords. I like the bodies on the older Mustangs, Cougars, etc but never liked Ford in general. I hated imports til recently I had a 88 Acura Integra given to me. Peppy little sucker and handles great. It was gonna be for my girlfriend to drive until she got something else but I drive it and let her drive my 97 Sunfire, and I loved that. Atleast it's an old Ford though. I don't care for any of the newer cars really.

Fords are a good foundation to make some big power.
I have never liked a convertable car, but i like the big fords.

Its a good looking car....what is that?...a Fairlane?
I have always been a chevy guy as far as domestic power goes, VW for the import world, but recently i have been working on some fords...Ive built a couple but I have some questions for you if youknow very much aboutford stuff.

Lemme know if I can ask,

God bless

1973 or older for me. The California smog laws kill me. This is a 1971 LTD conv. And only one of 267 with the center console, And that motor is a 521 cid stroker plus they only made less then 7000 total LTD convertibles in 1971 and 1972.

It is a nice project, the car and the engine. I'd much rather have a 572 BBC in a 55-60's Chevy, 63 Vette, 65 Chevy pick up........wake me up.

I love the 572 if I had my way, I would cut the he-- out of the Vega and, drop a big block in it. The 572 is too pricey for me at 14 to 15 thousand dollars. I have all the parts and I am building the 521 my self. It should come in at just under 600 hp and, at under 10 dollars a horse power.

Ok, some progress on the dash, There is more progress that I will post in a week or so. The instrument panel and glove box door are finished, and waiting to be installed. I have all the controls and, the heater control has been refurbished. The color is Maui blue and it looks green due to a green shade tarp. The paint is a semi gloss finish and, it was intentional to have some orange peel to defuse the sunshine. Hope you like it.
