I am planning to make front and back spoilers using this same technique, should be good.

Last week on Powerblock, Extreme 4X4 they made a new dash/center console/ speaker boxes using this very same technique, that was a good review.

Yeah, it was on Spike. I had seen it before and watched it again. I thought, "I've seen that technique before". Yep. Right here on H-body.
Good work and thanks for sharing guys.

Thanks for the info, I plan on making a shape using quarter inch rabbit wire and then putting the cloth over that. What you showed me would certainly be a lot faster than using angel hair. I will also be copying your engine mount design. You stated that you were using the standard Chevy truck engine mount, however one that you may like better is the Corvette "Locker" engine mount, if this is not the one you are using (I couldn't tell from the pictures. :bang:), it is part number 2285 at ohreallys.
I had to edit this because I was drooling too much to read that you were putting a bigblock into it until later. Something you might think about is using the firewall/floorpan out of a 62 up chevy truck (Like the wonderful white panel you have in the background of one of your pics (I have a 65 swb suburban in my yard waiting for money to do something with it.)) as it is designed around the bigbocks with big transmissions.

Thanks for the kudos everyone, dwragon, your rabbit wire frame will work fine but may be have a less uniform finish, but that's all, I made one like that with aviary mesh and plumbers tape then fiberglassed for the 64 panel, which worked perfectly, but was a little rough looking, you will probably do a better job of it than I did.

Our motor mounts are lakewood 24084 muscle mounts and not the standard truck mounts that I thought, my bad, the corvette 2285 anchor motor mounts from ohreallys you describe would be a great choice, and for only $10 each, the lakewoods where $70 for the pair back in 06, damn.

Oh and the big block, that went into cavemans 71 LTD convertible that is pictured somewhere back in this thread, came out nice, nothing like a big block for sure.

The 64 LWB panel has a SBC 350, 350 turbo trans, 205 transfercase, Dana axles front and rear, yes we did the conversion to 4x4, that was a big challenge, drives great, currently serving as a self propelled storage container for all the Vega parts, hope drive it again someday, I start it up every few months or so and dream about driving it again.

dwragon I hope you do get to your suburban someday soon, good luck

I have used that engine mount ever since I ran across it while working for "Cheif(P) Auto Parts" (R.I.P., bought out by Autoshack, AKA, Autozone) twenty years ago (Damn, I AM getting old :? ), I have never had one break. I understand about no money to run the panel. I hope to get mine running someday, or else they will have to use my Vega panel express for my hearse, My feet will be sticking out the liftgate  . But really keep working on the Vega, from what I have seen it will be way cool.

Not completed yet, much progress has been made, but without pics I guess it didn't happen.
The car is painted now and was as far apart as they can be when we suddenly packed up all and moved to a new location.
Trailering the car several hundred miles got lots of looks and comments Everytime we stopped.
I keep saying I have another 6 months to go, but I have been saying that for how many years now?
