There is more, magazine article, how to order a Monza Mirage, pictures and I think Ron has some of this stuff on his site.

One letter to GM that introduces BORT to GM with "A NEW CAR TO INCREASE MONZA SALES" dated Feb. 24 1976

I'll get the rest on here tomorrow. I'm floored about it no doubt! Genious no, if it wasn't for your article with the IMSA part numbers it wouldn't of happened! The first person I talked to works with Randy and got me to him. Then Randy got me to Jack and what can I say about that! Nice people and I'm so happy Jack saved these items and wanted to share with all of us. Brian

The first black one is mine. I didn't realize they took pictures of it. The shots were taken in the parking lot behind the 8 Mile Studio where my parts were put on. I had just put my stripes on it and brought it over to get their thoughts.

Ask Jack if he has any shots of the 'Rapide' prototype? It had wider flares along with the whale tail and I believe it also had a turbo Cosworth Vega in it. I remember being in the parking lot just before they arrived from a meeting with it. I think Juratovic was driving and they started doing donuts in celebration of the meeting with GM.

Great shots from Jack, thanks for all your efforts Brian.

Dick

That second black one, that has the gold top stripes....very close to the one that ended up at a local wreckers in the 90's.

That pic of the trucks loaded up with mirages, that was so cool. Imagine catching a glimpse of that going down the freeway..

So cool! thanks for sharing!!

Wow and it is even next to Jack's Pantera and look how low it is! I thought our cars were low...

I forgot one last night and Jack just emailed
I have since found great colors taken in the GM Design photo studio of the original completed Monza Rapide with whale tail that I will send to you tomorrow in a media mail tube via USPS. These are the best professional record of the original Rapide presentation to GM.
Jack said he is going to visit here soon also.

If you guys haven't seen Ron's web site he has a ton of Mirage/IMSA info there http://www.geocities.com/miragestripes/ If you go down that page to the Mirage ads you can see a video and a ton of other stuff. Jack sent some of those things but since Ron has so much there you should check it out if you haven't already. I need to go through all the magazines articles he has!!!

I missed this one of the Rapide last night. More pic's!

Kind of hard to keep up with your postings! Great info. Terrific sales job from Purcell to GM on the 'IMSA' derivative.

Original Rapide presentation to GM. Have you guys seen these or other pictures of this car? New to me but I don't get out much :D

I'm going to get all the big items scanned so anybody who wants the files will have them.

Jack said he has a rear 3/4 view that he will find and send. The entire rear bumper, Fascia, back panel and tail light rings were black!
The Buick Nighthawk prototype had the back light rings blacked out too.

That is Jack with a full size tape drawing of a Zoomey 59 CAD he did for Chuck Jordan's retirement!

Thanks again Jack :th:

More great info, I thought the prototype I had mentioned earlier with the turbo Cosworth was yellow. Would you ask Jack about that one and if they made more than one prototype?

Also, any chance you could get a full scan of the shots that were cut off.

Thanks,
Jack
