If I remember correctly, the three wires out of the fan are black, blue, and I think dual orange wires? The ground is obviously the black, the blue I think is the high speed, and the orange is for the low. Hook it up to a battery to find out, that's what I did.
To wire mine up, I scoured the entire yard till I found a relay set that I liked. An 88 Olds midsize sedan had a set of three relays mounted on a steel holder. I yanked this with as much wire as I could and used this as my relay set. Reason being that I didn't want to use hoaky universal relays with individual spade connectors, I like a plug much better. And also, I wanted a relay easily replaced from Autozone. Besides that, it looks much nicer too.
Anyways, using these three relays, I used one of them to power the low speed, then wired two in parallel to power the high speed, since it uses a lot of current.
Down the road I'm going to add a temp control switch, but for now, I've got my low and high speed wired to toggle switches. It's fine for me now since only I drive it. I've never had an issue. Do you have a high amp alternator? The Taurus fan killed my 60 amp alternator. But a trip to the same wrecking yard got me a 105 amp CS130 alternator for $15. I also nabbed a very large charge wire off a 94 Bonneville to supply power to a junction block I got from a Silverado, which in turn powered each relay.
A little funky, I know. My car is built off of parts from probably a dozen other cars, but by doing this, I've saved probably hundreds of dollars easily versus ordering everything new from a catalog.
