Thanks,
One more if I may...
what was used to connect the steering shaft to the rack?

Ok actually two....

Looks like you used the Z car crossmember with the rack, correct?

1. I used a part of the 240 steering shaft connected to 3/4" DD and a couple of U-joints.

2. I sectioned the stock crossmember and inserted the center section of the 240 crossmember that had the rack mount then welded it back together.

I used the 7.5" monza housing and put 28 spline axles and a 2000 Camaro posi with S10 28 spline axles. It was fine behind my 355 but the LS1 has more torque down low and after I drove the LS1 last summer it started to make noise. I'm going to have it rebuilt by Jim (Monzaz). It should hold up for a while.

My car sits pretty low;but has been running well for a couple years now. I too used the CTS-V oil pan. My front crossmember was changed to incorporate the mounts for the close ratio Dakota RT rack and pinion and adequate oil pan clearance. E-mail me and I'll send pics if anyone is interested. Right now the engine is out. I sold the AFR headed,Fast 90 intaked 346 for a 402ci stroker L92/L76 combo with juice.

Can I get some photos and what year the Dakota RT rack is?
Is it a power rack?
When I get back from summer vacation in the south this will be my next project.

Thanks.

I got a 88 Dakota I could see how the close ratio power rack would be very nice .3 easy turns from lock to lock. :P

Bill, what fan did you use, your first post just says "electric fan-" is there room for a Tuarus fan?
Where did you locate the computer?

I run a 14" fan that pulls 2200 cfm. Some guys have been using the taurus fan but I'm not sure it will fit with the LS1.
