Edelbrock aluminum intake high rise

I will get some numbers off the heads.

I'd be afraid to guess with 1/4 of the camshaft missing.

I think it was just a term used to describe a high performance street cam. Something appropriate for the street but like a race cam. Tht just what the older gentlemen that sol it to me said

I just read that it means about 305 degrees of duration are used or something lol

Doesn't seem like a good way to describe cam grinds haha

72 Vega's are about 2200 lbs stock
add 300 to 400 for the V8, TH350 and the S10 parts

For a mild 350 Chevy figure 250 to 300 HP depending on the valve size, compression ratio, cam specs, timing and exhaust system

3/4 race cam. Reminds me of my grandfather talking about a flathead engine he built years ago. 8)
It's hard for an old street racer to stay on the safe side of stupid

I can remember my dad having three classes of camshafts, stock, 3/4 and full race. We used to give him a hard time back then by asking him how an engine would run with 1/4 of the cam missing.

It may sound funny today but these names were very common street rod lingo for the sixties and even into the early 70's. It was a less technical time when incidentally most of the 'Hot Rod Slang Terms' of today were coined.
