Building my 73 GT wagon and I have a problem with my Transdapt kit. It acts like the front mounts that go on the frame of the car are to low. I've got a SBC with the Milidon vega pan on it and in order to clear my steering center link I have to add around 1-1/4" spacers on top of the rubber blocks that rest on the top of the frame mounts. It fits OK with the spacers but I can't figure out why I should need them. The frame mounts bolts to the drag link so that height is pretty much set on that side. I welded the steering box mount on level with the other side so I would think those are correct. I do have a homemade rear crossmember on the back of a 700R4 and that could add to the problem as it might hang down an extra 1" in the rear. I'm getting contact with the 700R4 to the trans tunnel on the drivers side around 8" back from the firewall causing me to have it hanging low to clear it. The plan is to pull the mo and trans and "adjust" the tunnel with a BFH, stick it back in and recheck.
Anybody else run into this w/the Transdapt stuff?
Thanks,
Roger
