IF the coil is good then only the condensor remains as possibly bad.

You did set the point gap with the rubbing block on the tip of the cam, not the flat side? When you spin the engine over, you should see the points open and close as the cam turns. If you probed the negative side of the coil (with the wire going to the distributor) with a test light, the light should pulse on and off as you spin the engine over.

Beyond that, you may need to find an old-timer to come by and look it over.

yea ill have to check again about the points again tomorrow. yea ill just replace the condenser its only 5 bucks so im not complaining. hopefully it will fire up. one of my buddies is going to help me out with it so hopefully it will fire up *fingers crossed*

woooot!! it fired up!! i adjusted the points just as cosvega76 said threw some gas in the carb and lo and behold it fired up! but it shut off after 2 seconds so im guessing the fuel pump is gone

Congrats!

Check both of the fuel pump fuses in the fuse box before spending a lot of time diagnosing the fuel pump. If they're okay, try beating the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber hammer while a buddy cranks the engine to see if it frees the pump up. Don't try to dent the tank, just shock the pump. If it doesn't work after a few whacks, then check the wiring. You may have to end up dropping the tank and checking the connections and pump.

OK I'll check that maybe I'll get lucky and it will work. There's like a little trap door in the trunk is there any way to access the fuel pump through there?

Fuel pump is bad I tried the tricks and nothing but I got it for only $28 bran new plus strainer :)
