Any experience with Bob Gumm's engine mounts?

Postby robert123 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 5:30 am

'73 Vega needs some engine mounts; SBC (with ~ Monza exhaust manifolds).
Leaning toward side engine mounts ... something like Bob Gumm, Don Hardy, Doug Thorley etc...

Any of you guys have experience with Bob Gumm's engine mounts (v8monza.com)?
They look very strong... says it takes about 4 weeks for delivery.
Thanks.

I do not have any experience with Bob's mounts but be aware that you would still need the frame mounts for a V8 H body. What Bob sells are the engine mounts only which of course bolt to the frame mounts.

I'm using them with factory V8 Monza frame plates. I've had them in now for about 1.5 years.
Working fine. Only thing I noticed so far was a little 'break in' sag to them. From time of install to now, it's settled I'd say about 3/16", so if you use them factor that in (especially if the bottom of your oil pan is really close to steering link).

Good Luck,
Mike

I used them in my V8 Sunbird. One of them took a little bit of effort to get the holes to line up.
