The OEM oil pressure switch is there for safety; you could jump the pink and blue wires together and the fuel pump would run whenever the key is on, but I don't recommend it. If you want a gauge, just install a 1/8" pipe thread tee fitting and have both.

Note- the very act of listing all of these has made me realize I have some kind of problem.....

I agree with Spence, the oil pressure switch is a safety measure to make sure the fuel pump only runs while the engine is running (oil pressure). In the event of a accident you don"t want to chance the fuel pump running while the engine is off or fuel lines severed etc. This is not a problem on cars with mechanical pumps as they stop when the engine stops as well. I did exactly what Spence suggested and installed a T fitting along with the oil pressure switch.
