ID this radiator

Postby highstrungvega » Sun Nov 24, 2013 9:41 pm

I picked up a 3 core radiator. The core measures 21x 11 with tanks it's 26 x 12 1/2. Is this a 6 cylinder radiator? Recored 4 cyl? Do you think I can get by with a v8 with thus radiator? Thanks guys

Boy, that seems small to me for a V8.
I'd play it safe and go bigger with good air movement too.

Getting the right size radiator (even if it's used one) is a small investment to keep a happy cooler running motor.
Pretty much any V8 conversion project you see done to a Vega, upgrading the radiator is part of the plan.

You might get by, but why risk it ?
Griffin Aluminum radiators can be had in 26" x 16" x 3" thick #1-25221-X with 1" tubes for $165
Summit Racing Part Number:GRI-1-55221-X with 1 1/4" tubes for $250 :th:
the tanks are both 3" so the thicker core only takes up 1/4" of fan clearance
