1975 Monza 350 install

Postby gunner » Fri Dec 20, 2013 7:21 pm

I have a 75 with the 4.3 l and i want to put a 330 hp chevy performance crate engine in. What kind of problems can I expect. Do all the brackets bolt on, AC, PS, alternator. Is there a port by the distributor for the oil sending unit. What mods do I need to make to the drive train if any. Will the trans hold up to that kind of HP. I want to put a Edelbrock performer intake with a 650 carb, will I have any clearance problems. Any help would be great. This boat anchor needs to go.

I did this swap in my 75 Monza hatchback. Everything should bolt right up if you use a early style block with the two piece rear seal. My block is a 1971 4 bolt main. Otherwise you may have to deal with some oil pan issues. Accessories should all bolt on, not sure if the notchback has any hood clearance differences, you do need to watch that very carefully. I use a old Edelbrock C3BX hi-rise with a Edelbrock carb but I had to use a drop base 14" air cleaner which lowers the air cleaner down around the carb along with a short 2.5" K&N air filter element.
