Ecotec swap question

Postby V8VEGA23 » Sun Sep 28, 2014 7:23 pm

Hey everyone, looking to possibly do an ecotec/t5 swap into a vega wagon. I have done a lot of reading about making everything work but have been unable to locate any information about steering clearance. I'd like to keep the stock steering and was wondering if it will work and if not, what modifications need to made. I know a few guys have done the swap and thought they could pass their info along. Thanks again!

Dick,
I read through that thread before posting the question. I was unable to find any Info on steering clearance. Maybe I missed it, I'll look through it again. I remember a few people asking about it but meet receiving a clear answer. Thanks for the reply!

Looking at the picture from the front of the car the steering linkage from the firewall to the steering box is stock. You can send the owner a PM to see if he made any changes. Without re-reading the thread I don't remember why he mounted the engine on a slight angle.
