You wonder why they would discontinue headers that they already have developed patterns for. I can understand them making them special order as they aren't selling a bunch of them but why just cancel them? Hope my ceramic coated 2135's last a long time.......have you tried contacting Hooker directly?

I did contact them directly once for the 2135 ceramic ones but not for any of the other ones

Have you checked Summitracing or Speedwaymotors ?
Lots of them listed on Ebay too.
Probably enough Hookers in the supply chain to last a while.
With all the people going with LS swaps Gen 1 header demand is shrinking.
I switched to Sandersons, they are half the price in ceramic and easier to install.

Summit shows painted 2129's as "in stock". but the ceramic coated 2129's and 2135's as "special order".

I did some more calling and digging today, they no longer make a painted version of 2129s or 2135s only a ceramic coated set.

For those of you using the Sanderson shorties, do you have any clearance issues?

Some cars require notching the passenger side fender brace for clearance.

To be fair, the Hooker 2135's can be very close in this area too, check before tightening everything up. I think a lot depends upon the particular engine placement which can very slightly car to car.

DONT KNOW IF THIS THE APPROPRIATE PLACE FOR THIS COMMENT ON HOOKERS 2029 HEADERS BUT HERE IS MY FINDINGS ON INSTALLATION PROBLEMS THAT THESE HEADERS HAVE GIVEN MANY PEOPLE. AFTER MUCH FRUSHTRATIONS MYSELF I HAVE DETERMINED THAT ALL OF MY PROBLEMS WERE CAUSED BY A SET OF HEADERS THAT WERE DESIGNED IN THE EARLY TO MID 70'S AND MY BRODIX HEADS ARE OF A MUCH LATER DESIGN THAT INCORPORATE RAISED PORTS, APPROXIMATELY 1/2 INCH IN MY CASE,THAT TAKES AWAY ALL THE CLEARENCE BTWEEN THE STEERING SHAFT AND THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE HEADER TUBE AND ALSO TAKES AWAY THE CLEARENCE IN THE Y IN BETWEEN THE 3 AND 5 CYLINDER HEADER TUBES. ONLY FOUND THIS OUT BY MEASUREING AND OLD SET OF CHEVY IRON HEADS AND COMPARED THE MEASUREMENT TO MY BRODIX HEAD AND FOUND A 1/2 INCH DIFFERENCE FROM HEAD MOUNTING SURFACE AND THE CENTER OF THE HEADER MOUNTING HOLES. AMAZING WHAT A HALF INCH WILL DO.ALWAYS WONDERED WHY MY HEADERS WERE ALSO SO TIGHT TO MY FLOORPAN ALSO THIS SURE EXPLAINS A LOT OF MY HEAD ACHES OVER THE YEARS. HOPE THIS WILL HELP SOME OF YOU USEING 2029s IN YOUR H BODY. :bang: :cuss:

I will know shortly whether there are any issues with the "S.Shortys"on the 4.3 v6 w/AC -75 Cos. We will be tackling this part of the restoration very shortly. Very nice pictures of the notch for the Hookers though, I am glad I read this thread. Thanks for all the info....Peace
