Just be careful - usually heads with centerbolt valve covers use "guided" rocker arms. There are no pushrod guides in the heads, so they use a washer-like device on either side of the roller on the valve stem end of the rocker arm. You cannot have both on the same head - they will bind. You can either use the guided rocker arm, or a standard rocker arm with the pushrod guides in the head or pushrod guideplates.

Good point, thats exactly true.

These rockers are self alligning, with the roller tips. Also the factory studs have a taper on them that is absorbed by the factory guide plate. When you remove that plate, you either need spacer washers in there, or buy some ARP's without the taper.

tall valve covers

i dont have roller rockers but i do have tall valve covers on my smallblock, i used an adjustable alluminum water neck I think it aims a little more up than a stock one but everything fits, just my 2 cents T.J.
