I don't have everything, but I'll post some history of what I do have on this computer.

Don Hardy rearend. I bought this back in 1998 from a guy in New York. It was a housing and axles, that's it. It cost me more to ship it than it did for the rearend (those were the days). I bought a GM posi unit with 4.10 gears. I had it rebuilt by a friend of a friend. He rebuilt the posi unit, put all new bearings in it, and set it up. I then spent over 2 years finding 11" Impala backing plates, and built up the drum brakes with all new parts from there.

I had the car on a rotisserie and ground the car down to bare metal by hand. Then filled every seam with new seam sealer, and POR-15'd the entire underside of the car, the engine compartment, and the entire interior of the car. It took me weeks to get the POR-15 off my skin.

I think you could rightfully claim.

THIS CAR BUILT IN THE USA!

Or at least

ALL OVER THE USA!

Would love to see your car someday. We are due for another Charlotte trip this year. (Have my wife's sisters family there as well as my God Brother)

Have you ever hooked up with bob Beck to see his collection?

Yep, some days I still do want to sell it. It's a frustrating car.

Glad you at least kept it enough to see it through.

I know what you mean though. I've been tempted with the Astre several times, and probably will again in the future. I'm glad I finally got through it all though. I've just got detail stuff left over. But stay with it till the end. Then it pays off.

Here's the kind of detail I get myself tied up with. The old plugs that covered the access hole to the door latch mechanism had paint on them, so I bought new ones. New weatherstripping here. Those little door bumpers are also new. Not seen here is the new door striker as well. Oh, and new window sweeps and new window channel. That's just on a door...

Aaaaahhhhh the memories!... I miss that old garage in Wisconsin!.... Glad to see you still have it Brian. I know it gets frustrating too and there have been times I've almost sold my Spyder too, but after 23 years of ownership I still can say I'm glad I kept it.

Keep those pics and updats a comin'!
