another 72 vega for pan

i just picked up a 72 vega that i have been working on getting for a couple months now

its a 72 hatchback gt

it has aero space front brakes
don hardy v8 mounts
a posi 456 12 bolt
a fair body

it needs alot of work it used to be a drag car and i'm going to make it a street car again

i will post pics asap

i need to fix the inner fender wells and core support

put the heater assembally back in it

change the steering colmn out the one in it is not a h-body colmn

cut the crappy ladder bars and sub frame connector off

change the rear springs out they look to be front coils from another car and don't fit right

those front wheels need to be changed

change the seats out

put motor tranny in it

alot of fixing stuff that was done half ass

looks like a project you could really sink your teeth into. looks like the basics are there, like you said you just need to fix some substandard fabrication and reinstall some creature comforts to make it a real nice street terror that you can be proud of. good luck i think its a good find

got the gt air conditioning dash cleaned up and put into place

removed the ac vents from the parts car and getting them cleaned up

and am working a deal to get the monza ac parts to convert it over

i allso just finished a complete rebuild of a monza tilt colmn that will go in it

got the steering colmn done and thrown in along with a different ac dash bezel to go with the ac conversion coming up and i bolted in a 2 knob kenwood

i think it allready looks alot better

the junk yard has a 73 with the wood grain on the doors i might look at them to see how good they would clean up

yeah, that's great progress for as little time as you've had it!

i would have more done but i have to wait to get the parts
i have made the deal to get the ac parts i need i'm going to get them tommarow

and i will be cutting the inner fender wells out of my parts car next weekend if all goes well

i want to be driving this car asap

i got the front fenders off and it is so week i have to change the whole front of the car i will be cutting across under the front seats and threw the a pillar and changing it all

if you have ever thought about cutting the inner fenders out DON'T
just me bouncing on the front causes the frame rails to roll in

wow i'm impressed. thats some fairly hardcore body work you've got going on there. my wife is going hate me but i am going to have to buy a mig welder here sooner or later. i'm sure she'll understand. (sarcasm noted)
