TC, I left them(balljoint centers) in the center, same as stock was. My car the wheels were towards the front of the fender opening,(see pic) checked both sides and they were the same. It sould be centered or be able to be centered with the cam bolts.... if not I will pull it with the frame machine and then the wheels will be centered.... lol

Just a couple pics I had on the camera on the front suspension mods, heres the suspension back in. (Just waiting for my coil springs to come back from getting banded), I didnt want to scratch the control arms all up after I painted them and I am not cutting my coils on my 4 cyl with a/c springs. I will need to now shorten up and adjust the tie rod ends to be 1 inch narrower each side, theres already about 5/8" gap in between them now in the adjusting sleeve so it wont take a whole bunch to get back.
Also a sneek peek pic of what the car will look like now. I will get it outside and snap a few pics when its all completed up front, its much, much better then before. :D

also scored a aluminum driveshaft from a firebird for $40 and its exactly the right length! :th:

couple pics with std 48 inch drywall square placed at various points of car, roof is just barely over 48 inchs high now! Gonna have to keep the roof waxed now...lol :D

I need to find the specs on s10 lowered shocks for the extension and compressed length, I may just use the shocks instead of adding bump stops, will have to see about shocks and how close they will be to travel in suspension. By using the drop spindles it was nice as I have just about perfectly level upper control arms, so it should be about mid stroke in suspension travel. If what I am finding on the net is right the stock shocks only have a travel range of 3-1/2 inchs, 8 inch compressed length and 11/5/8 inch extended for a vega.

p.s., (TC, the wheel ended up in the center of fender now!)

Dude, seeing those 235's wedged into the front fenders is really inspiring. I'm not sure I thanked you for your input on tire choice. It was a big help at the time and, ultimately, a big factor in what I direction I chose to take. Although at this point it's a huge departure from where I started. (update coming soon). LOL!

TC, it's not a bad idea to revisit the 15" combo. The tire companies are phasing out the 15" options. There will always be tires available for 15" but not necessarily the ones you want. Make sense?

Keep rollin' team!

I really like the stance that you got out of your car, I think my is going to sit a little bit higher maybe....I need to check the travel after the fenders are removed and modified. To my question.. I am thinking about using a LS3 with a 5 speed behind like yours, are you going to run ac in your car and if so are you setting the engine back?

Nixvegagt, Those are all the "eaters" during gun season, when the big ones dont show up and you have tags to fill......lol

bbcowboy, I did set my engine back a few inchs, only because I am running a intercooler and a aluminum radiator so I need 6.25" inchs thick for the two combined. I had planned on hooking up a vintage air a/c system from thier street rod line. They have some small compressors and I might likely be able to sneak one in on either side of the engine down low. I figured I would first worry about getting the headers run and turbos(2) mounted and go from there. BBC eats up the room fast.......

Thanks Megavega, I was going a quick measure the other night and I figured I need a min 15" from the raditor support to the front of the block. My plans are using a griffin raditor with the fans pulling the air thru and the set up from vintage air front runner, thats why I was asking about the set back, I started to think the engine was going to be in my lap. Twin tubros wow, that is going to be one heck of ride.
