I jumped right in today and was getting things ready to go.
Adjusted my valves and set the stud girdles while I still had it on the engine stand, put the motor mounts on, and also installed the new flexplate.
I also was able to get the engine & trans. joined together with the flex plate shield installed on it as well. I will put on the new trans. mount in the morning and I believe that I will be able to set it in the car tomorrow provided that no unexpected "snags" occur during the course of events.

It was a very busy day today, I was able to get alot of things done & everything worked out very well for a change. I had a few little problems while getting the engine put in, I had to swap out the right side motor mount with another one that I had. It seemed that the legs on the bad one were twisted and some what bent under. The good thing is that I just happened to have a good extra. Then finally when i was bolting up the right side header, now that was a test in itself. It took 2 of us and having to losen up the motor mount and jacking the engine up just 3/4" to get the header flange to line up with the head. Once the header was bolted up, I just simply let the jack down and everything just kind of "snapped" right into place.

It actually only took us about 10 minutes to get the motor sat in it & bolted up to the mounts. Everything else was pretty simple and straight forward as usual, except that the space is indeed quite limited and very tight in some places. Other than the few minor things mentioned before, it wasn't too awful bad of a task.

I have alot of pictures to show, And here we go...........................,

It now looks as if some of this is starting to come together, It has taken alot of time & work to get to this point, and it has taken a little over two years to reach it.
Ofcourse, I had to do some fairly serious repair work to the floor which slowed me down considerably. I think that it is starting to take shape and look like a car again, who knows, I may even get to drive it again some day.

I have taken some pics of the underside of the car to show some of the clearance issues that have shown themselves. It is mainly just the headers so far. Everything else seems to be just as it should. I am a little worried about getting the rest of the exhaust on and making it around the trans. though. I guess I won't know until I get that far.

might i make a sugestion? your right inner tie rod has the grease nipple aimed right at the oil pan this will probably hit at hard right turns(mine does) do like im going to , grease the joint up them remove the grease fitting and plug off the hole with a small threaded plug(i think there might be a proper plug for this not shure) then at least if it hits on turns you will have much less chance of punching a hole in your pan. i have to remove the paint and jb weld the pan as mine has been hitting and denting the pan(not leaking yet fingers crossed lol)

Thank You 73astregt,

I will be sure to take a closer look at that, I sure as heck don't want to be "punching a hole" in the side of my pan. Thanks Again !
