77 78 ? olds starfire it will be up for sale soon

Postby peterpan » Mon Mar 03, 2008 10:54 am

i got this car to save it from the crusher

i'm going out today to see if the motor runs if it does i plan to do some work to the car and sell it asap

i plan on doing a 5 lug swap using s-10 axles and probably my areo space brake kit thats on my 72 gt right now

and put on a set of olds cutlass rally wheels
with 3rd gen f-body rear springs if needed

and i need to put a tranny back in it

if this car sells to someone on the forum or the new owner becomes a member i will let them take over this project thread if they would like

either the starter is bad or the motor is bad

it wouldn't turn over and the wind was blowing to hard to mess around with it

i might have a line on some v8 parts close enough to me to get
if that goes threw i will put a v8 in it

i have made a deal to buy a 75 v8 monza coupe with all the v8 parts even ac brackets

so as long as that deal goes threw i will be putting a v8 in the starfire with ac and all original monza brackets

Ray, we have all seen your work and know you aren't afraid of rust. But it's still a plus when you get a rust free care. Interior work is alot easier than what you've done before.

i wont know what to do with myself i don't need to cut and weld on this one

it is just to easy to change the bolt in parts

i have a set of black grab handles for it and for now i just bought a dash mat off ebay in blue for it until i can get my hands on a good dash

but those are the least of my worries for now i just want to get it running and get the title for it witch is a long drawn out deal

If you really want to cut and weld, put a 71-73 Vega front half on it. I always wanted to see what an early Vega with a Monza type hatchback would look like.

thats ok i still have to cut the rear fender lips off my parts car and put them on my 72 gt so i still have some cutting and welding to do that will satisfy the urge

i have wandered if the vega stuff will fit on a monza i think it would bolt on for the most part but i'm not sure how the body lines would look

if i take the fenders off a monza i have a set of 72 fenders i could set on it just to see what it would look like

I don't know if the front edge of the doors would be the same between the Monza and Vega.
