Started right off the bat looking for more speed for next year. Motor has been out a while testing some new aftermarket heads, I'm changing to a solid roller cam, maybe add a vacuum pump. I'm looking to cut some more weight. Things I'm looking at.

1. AL drive shaft
2. New ladder bars. Besides mine sucking, the are solid square tube and have to weight a ton.

3. Anyone use AL steering box? they look expensive but might save a good chunk.

Look over my build thread and if you have any more weight saving ideas on my car specifically let me know. I don't believe I can add too much more fiberglass as I want to fit in a class that allows just a a hood and maybe a hatch.

wow.. your going that fast without a solid roller.... that thing is going to need a real long set of wheelie bars to keep the front end down  have you thought about fiberglass fenders and a deck lid..lexan windows?
or just trade me for mine  and start over, and make it as light as you want

Yep still a hyd cam with stock lifters, pushrods and valves. Got some big stuff in the works for this area.

I was thinking about a fiberglass hatch. I cant glass any other parts an attempt to fit in a class I want to play in.

Only glass in the car is the windshield and the small back side windows. I have to keep the front but will probably plastic up the little windows too.

Just a little update for the winter. i will take and post pics when i get them of course.

In respects to the motor we will be baseline dyno the engine they way it is now, replace the stock heads with some aftermarket castings and see what we gain.
Then the next step will be to move over to a solid cam setup with all the needed supporting valvetrain. I will have the dyno'd too.

For the chassis it looks like i am going to complete redo the entire laddar bar and shock setup to something sweet.
The same guy that is doing the suspension will also be mounting a cute setup for when I break 150mph in the 1/4

After I run the car like this in the spring I will determine how much spray it will take to get me to the cert limit of 8.5 seconds.

Cool! are you going to a 4 link? it is more tunable and might be easier to keep the front end down
will you be ready for the pinks outing?

I'm sticking with ladder bar setup. Some of the classes i want to try have a weight penalty for 4 link and I'm so light I'm adding weight up the ying yang with lead for this class as it is so I need to stay away from anything that makes me add. Not only will i be ready for Pinks in Aug I'll be ready to run when the track opened in April!

Ill get the details soon but my builder sent me a txt and told me the head change made 30hp more across the board, 46hp more at peak and carried the power 800 more rpm's. Looks good so far.

I should have some big updates in the next week or two but I'll post some pics now so I don't fall to far behind on the updates.

Gas ported pistons looking at 14.7:1 static comp I believe.
