Front suspension;

Getting ready to do the 5-lug swap soon, but I got some questions first:
- Can I use Stock monza LBJ and S10 UBJ and still get the alignment right?
- I lack hubs for my spindles, does some rotor kits come with them?

Thanks
Andreas

I just got done using a tapered reamer to get the larger Chrysler LBJs to fit S10 spindles. My point is you could potentially ream out the upper taper for the S10. They should be the same 1.5" per foot taper as the stock Monza UBJ studs just bigger in diameter.

One thing it will do is change the pivot center of the front suspension. It will probably actually improve your suspension geometry for better cornering by increasing neg. camber gain.

Oh. yes you will still be able to get the alignment right.

The rotors will come with the "hub" as part of the rotor casting.

Update;

The car is on the way to a garage to fix most of the rust. Almost -20 degrees today, cold as :censored: . Got it loaded on to the towing truck after freezing our toes and fingers off :th: . The car is almost stripped down and this one big step forward :D

I was removing some rust yesterday, when I saw black smoke coming out of the workshop (The monza sits outside of it). My friend was doing some welding on the floorpans in his Volvo, so he didn't notice that the interior catch fire from the heat of the welding. So, I ran back and forth to get water (No water lines in the workshop) and finaly found a fire extinguisher and took out the fire. We managed to push it out of the workshop before the flames came out of the car, something I'm really glad for! Inside the workshop we got a 500 gallon diesel tank and '68 Camaro :shock:

Here is the result;
Image

Apart from that, I've removed 2 layers of rusty plates ( 2 x bad rust repairs) to get down to the original steel;

Image

I got some bad rust in the control arm mounts too, but I will reinforce that on both sides;

Image

I used 2 hours with a hacksaw blade and got one end of the cam bolt out;

As you see, the new plate need some adjustment and trimming, but it's coming along! :th:

Waitng on the UBJ and the door pins, then I can mount the front suspension again (Took the rear suspension down 4 days ago) and take of the doors and fix the rust in the bottom. Did also buy a new panhard bar :wink:
