I was just looking at your front spindles and how you shortened the steering arms. that came out very nicely but I'm wondering how strong it is? And is this a common practice? I was thinking about something similar for mine but I will have to drive it first so that won't be happening too soon. I am also impressed with how well that LS fits, it looks right at home. Probably only took about a zillion hours to make it that way! It's a good thing these cars don't come with a time clock! :D I want to see more pictures and video of it in action because the more of them I see running the more it makes me want to work on mine and try in make it as cool as the cars on this forum! :th: :th:

I have put a cheater bar on the steering arms and pulled down,, they held my 215lbs :th:
the ls fitment was a real pita :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
it has come out better than I thought,, but it is worth it,, burnouts are killer...
the rack and pinion is kicking my asssssss,, leaks leaks leaks,, I bought probably the last
ps chevette rack on earth, after rebuilding the first rack, and it leaks worse :censored: :censored:
I'm hoping the lucas stop leak will work :( :(

here is some more pictures,,, and I'm trying to get burn out videos,, but no one is around when
it happens :bump: :bump: :bump: I've been doing some tuning while driving and i'm still rich in most sections of
the VE tables :bored:

Sweet!!! Nice work! Looks like it is supposed to be there. That is exactly my plan. LS3 that looks like its supposed to be there. :th: :D

What AC compressor are you running? I don't see an accumulator so I want to borrow your plans.

Thanks,, it's Vintage air,, the accumulator is in the last picture just over the ac compressor with the light blue wires coming out of the trinary switch..

Tinker,

Very nice looking car!
If you cannot get the Chevette rack to work, take a look at one from a Subaru Impreza, they are about the same width, and easy to find.
The pinion angle is also a little better as it does not come out at almost 90 degrees to the rack like the Chevette.
I have a Subaru rack in my '72 that I have de-powered (and narrowed by about 5"). Even without power, it is still better then the original box..
I was using Camaro tie rod ends, but it had some bump steer, I was able to fix that up using a Spohn bump steer kit for a 93-2002 Camaro.
PM me and I can give you all the details.

Cheers,
Tim

I gotta say. That thing looks really good all detailed and sitting outside.
Hope you get your rack thing figured out.

Don Yenko's vega was a Stinger https://www.amazon.com/Chevrolet-Vega-S ... B00AWWAYZM I agree on the way that would have been done today although Yenko was such a Chevy nut who knows what he would put under the hood maybe a cst-v http://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gm-engines/lsa/ . Your LS is looking real fine!
