nice video of you driving down the highway it will be interesting to see what kind of mileage you get out of this car. In heavier cars they are always reporting pretty good miles per gallon numbers so in the Vega should be even better.

I am tempted to go to LS fest but my buddy doesnt have his Nova done so I think that will have to wait another year.

Have fun out there take lots of video!

kids judging, ask if it was a maverick.. I just said yes  ,, he said it was cool  that I put a ls motor in a ford and that everyone was doing it!! lol
it even says Vega on the wheel centers :cuss:

Apparently reading is no longer a core subject? :? The "Vega by Chevrolet" is a Ford Maverick I must have failed "English class" as well! F :censored: Me That is TOO funny Tinker Harry

I was at Cruisin' the Coast last week and had almost the same reaction by a couple of people. They asked if it was a Pinto or Maverick! Totally clueless.

But the overwhelming reaction was just seeing a Vega out there, let alone a Cosworth. I had many people telling me of their Vega stories and it was interesting seeing people look at the car.

Mine is not a show car by any means, just a true survivor and it looks it. But it was great seeing people's reaction to the car.

well the last day of drag racing this year, took the vega with the 235 drag radials mounted on some welds,, it ran real well at first,,then the trans started slipping on the first to second shift,, didn't need 3rd (1/8) ran 7.37 right out of the gate at 94 mph :th: slowed to 7.43@93mph.. cooled off for one more pass.. must have been good because it blew the tire off all the way through 3rd :bang: :bang: :bang: drag radials don't recover like slicks :(
all in all it was a great day,, with tuning in the upper rpm ve tables, I picked up .3 in the eighth and 3mph
the rear posi housing is wore out,, once I get a new one of those and change the gears to either 3.55 or 3.73 gears, times should drop a little more, but for now just drive and enjoy!! sorry no vids. Thanks everyone for all the overly kind words on my build :D :D :D

That's cool. Aint this weather at this time of the year great? Cool Air sure helps the motor, but you will prob have to re-tune in the summer. lol
Have you driven it enough "casually" to get an Idea on MPG?
I drove mine back and forth to work a few days. Trying to be good on the skinny pedal. Got about 23MPG.
