ya the whites not working for me either some day chrome but I'm a poor guy. or cheep this will take me some time to build right but to start getting it drivable has been nice. It is a lot more fun than I Thought. no extras in support underneath yet so still babying for know. I think the saginaw 4 speed will hold up but I have a camaro rear end all welded up in the garage ready to throw right in but I thought uni body support should come first and besides its been a long time since I've been able to scatter a rearend all over the road and this time it won't hurt me financially

Wow that is coming together nicely!

It reminds me of my 72 Vega. When I drove it as a V8 daily driver in the early '80s it was orange and white (black interior though - I like your interior better!).

Fun car.

Also put in new bearings, bushings, races, rubbers on pretty much everything new griffin radiator and started some of the bodywork. I haven't done much of this so pretty amateur work but I cut out a section of the front fender by the tire, tacked on a piece of sheetmetal and fiberglassed over it but can't get it to look right yet. practice makes perfect :D Hope I can spend a little more time and money on it soon

Just a little update...
I have installed coil spring extensions and shock extensions which brought it up so the tires no longer rub. I also installed a high output distributor. Replaced quadrajet with edelbrock. I almost think the stance is a little high in the back but the new carburetor and distributor made a world of difference. Also installed remote oil filter. Threw in a pick of my wife on her first country drive with the vega just for fun.

You may want to get the clutch cable off the header tube. There is a teflon lining inside that will melt. I use a heat sleeve where it runs between two tubes near the bottom.

I was looking at your radiator and wondering if you can get it closer to the housing.
Maybe even sunk in the housing a little to put a fan on your water pump pulley.
then fab a shroud up out of some tin. It would make a huge difference over
the way you have it now as far as running cooler goes. You can keep the
pusher for traffic with a toggle switch.

Thanx guys,
I have fabed up top brackets for the radiator but haven't decided how to put the rubber to them yet. The bottom brackets I fabbed up with rubber turned out ugly as sin but they are functional and out of sight so... It seems to run fine on temp with just the electric pusher so I'll keep my eye on it when it gets hotter out. Don't really want to cut on it to get manual fan in there yet.
I didn't even think about the clutch cable, didn't realize they had teflon in them. I can reroute it easy enough though. Lots of Things I need to do (LOTS!!) but little by little I'm making progress.

Thanx for all the info. Every bit of input is greatly appreciated. :th: :th:
