They are 58mm, .50/.63 A/R, got one from cxracing.com. , and the other from a buddy that bought one from them a year ago and never used it. 8)

Holy boost batman, how is the hood clearance on those turbos? Also would like to see pic's of the down pipes and the header/manifolds used as I am planning a similar turbo use for my vega.

Here's some pics of the headers bolted together, I have cut the turbo flanges off and changed the angles, both fore/aft and side to side, and now the hood WILL close. I may need to cut the hood a little bit to accommodate the cold side/merge pipe, I plan to notch the carb hat and angle it down a bit just past the float adjustment screw, and I may be able to get it to clear the bottom front of the scoop with no surgery, but time will tell if it works. 8)

thanks for the update, Are you able to clear your brake master/booster with those? Where did you get the header parts for making the flange and tubes?

on a side note, never could figure out how a turbo and carb setup works so I went with fuel injection.

No booster, just a manual master, I am gonna have to move my line lock, but they are gonna fit just fine. I didn't build them, they were an ebay set I bought from a buddy on the v8s10.org and s10racer.com site. For the price, I figured if I had to, I could just cut em up and use the flanges, but they are working with just some simple alterations. 8)

I felt like crap Tuesday, had a cold all weekend, and no helper on Monday, so I decided to take a "vacation day" Tuesday, and work on the Vega. Got a LOT done.

Got the BG400 pump and new -12 pickup fitting and hose installed:

Image

Image

Image

Two return lines, one from the pump itself, and one from the regulator up front:

Image

This is the old -8 feed line, now it's the return from the Aeromotive 13202 regulator:

Image

Got the new -10 Pushlock Plus hose routed through the subframe connector. I had the battery cable and the nitrous
line in there before, but there is not enough room for them now, so they will be re-routed outside the subframe connector. The main reason for putting the fuel hoses inside is the NHRA/IHRA requirement for the fuel hoses to be enclosed in steel in the area of the flexplate/flywheel area, the battery cable and nitrous hose do not have the same requirement.

Image

Image

Aeromotive regulator, mounted on the motor plate:

Image

Got the -10 Pushlock Plus oil return lines done on the turbos:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

A few shots of the top of the motor, you can see the -8 Pushlock hose from the regulator to the carb, and the -4 braided hose to the N2O solenoid, the -4 braided hose to the F/P gauge, and the braided -3 oil supply hoses to the turbos.

Getting closer..... 8)

Sorry I haven't been keeping this thread up to date. Got it all together, took it out to Test and Tune at OSW Friday night week before last, made one pass, leaned it out and hurt the motor. 0 compression on 4 cylinders, #1,#5, #4, and #8. Had a sacro-illiac joint out of place for a month or so, and it really started bothering me on Monday, went to see the chiropractor on Thursday, now I'm pretty much back to 100%, so pulled it out last night, will do teardown and inspection this evening. I'll post some pics later on.... 8)

I forgot to ask, did ya mod the carb again for the blow thru application and are you spraying it with nitrous with the turbos? still E85 with boost and the hose on it?

Yes, I did the Hangar18 mods on the carb, with vent tube extensions, on the corn,(E85), and the N2O is still on the car, but I know I won't need it. This thing felt every bit as strong as my old 427 Vega on a 300 shot. I might use the plate as "supplemental fuel" if I up the boost though.
GREAT NEWS!!!!! My fiancee and I got one of the heads off last night, and found I've got 2 tuliped intake valves on it, on the same cylinders that had no compression, that's IT, pistons look perfect, H/Gs look perfect, bores look perfect. My buddy has a full set of +.100 2.02/1.60 stainless valves I can have, the price..."come get em", :th: :th: I really needed +.100s anyway, I've been running +.050 locks to be able to stay out of coil bind with these springs, with no margin for error, couldn't even run 1.6 rockers if I wanted to.
I'll be back at the track as soon as I can get a valve job, and revamp my fuel system so this doesn't happen again, :D :D :D
