You DO have plans to put something else structural back in there I hope? On my current Vega, they had cut that out and bolted the radiator to the stubs,  8)
I put it back in and tilted the radiator back, like in a newer Corvette or F-body. 8)

Yes we do have plans for a 1"x 1.5" rectangle tube .120 Wall. Just haven't got there yet. More pics to come when we get there. Dave.

Your radiator looks as far forward as mine, did you check to see if the grill clears it on the ends?

@ 427VEGA: We have not made the mounts for the grille yet, but things seem to clear okay when we hold things in place. Thanks for your interest in our project!! Dave & Jason.

@ gmagilla: Yes, it's an 1/8" from being centered on the core support depending on which way we place the rubber blocks.. The notches at the end of the tube are for clearance on the radiator tanks. We have not finished the top radiator mount, it will be similar to the lower rubber block mount. See pics below. Thanks again for the killer valance!!! Dave & Jason.

Dad surprised me when he came home last night with the L-88 fiberglass hood!!! :D It's Vfn brand, and looks to be brand new!! We had plans to modify our stock steel hood so we could bolt hinges to it, instead of the stock welded hood hinges, but this does it all for us!!! Thanks again dad!!!

Tested the sump with a few gallons of water (simulated heavy acceleration & turning) and the sump works well!! The only time there seems to be any problem is when there is less than a quart of water in the tank.
