thought i would share some pics and plans for my new shop project. the car is a 77' vega GT the plan so far is possibly an LQ9 motor (an ls out of an SS silverado) it will be stock suspended front and rear. plan to put a 28" X 10.5" tire. i will most likely use F-body front end parts (i have it already) car has a bunch of parts i will be selling such as power steering parts, tilt steering column and i'm sure there will be more.

here's some pics

will do i plan to go kinda easy on this build i have decided that if i don't have something to replace any certain item with the one on the car is staying. i have to many projects that are torn down to nothing and thats not gonna happen with this one. i'm gonna get a motor in it so i can start playing with it a little. it's kinda unfortunate that it's a 77' means i can't get collector plates for it here which means it has to have emissions tests either every year or every other (not sure how they are doing it yet) so it may be a dedicated racecar i am kinda thinking if i can get it to run high 11's for now that will be fine for now I JUST WANT TO GO RACE SOME......lol. it has an 7.5" rearend with 3.42 gears which i will leave in until i can get a 9" in it. i'm gonna run the stock fuel tank for now but will put a sump in it and install a external pump.

Can't wait to see your bitchin' products on that car. Are you going to use your tubular A-arms?

yep any product i make will be on this car. it will also be a test mule for future products. one thing i want to do is come up with a mini tub kit so you can fit a 28" X 10.5" slick under it and remain stock suspended. it will include everything to accomplish that but will also sell everything individually.

Justin,

check out my thread on my mini tub job. It may help get you started on figuring out a kit.

yea i saw that nice job on it. im going to do mine with a more traditional tub not using the stock wheel house alot of times there just isn't enough room for a bigger tire because of how rounded off the stock wheel house is so if you square that off it helps. i plan to do a how to article when i do it but it may be a little bit before i can get to it.

I stuck with the stock wheel wells to be able to keep the interion panels. Open the hatch most will never notice the car was mini tubbed. I run a 27x10.5 tire. I would run a 28 but I'm not ready to stretch the 1/4's yet.
