Here are the shots of the frame connectors from the bottom. I'm still not finished with them yet. I am going to continue the tubing graft into the front and rear support sections. I will cut and miter a wedged piece of tubing at the front and rear and give the connectors an appearance of "disappearing" into the subframe sections. This will also add more strength verses leaving them butt welded as shown right now.

what size is the tubing?
I laid up under my car last night with 1 5/8 tubing and located it about it the same place you have, I'm thinking about running it further forward to meet the front frame right behind the a-arm??
I was thinking where you stopped at the front, cutting a slot through the re-enforced part and an slot it through there to the front frame, did where you went through the floor pan impeed any seat(front-rear) functions? thank you for taking the pictures :th:

Your welcome.
1 3/4 .095 chromoly. I thought about doing what you are thinking about, but decided against it. I didn't want any part of the tube under my feet. But it would be stronger. There are no seat problems at all.

I must have got really lucky when I bought mine..lol
The book is pretty much a compilation of all the articles that Schorr did for Motion that were published in Cars magazine and maybe some others. There are a couple of extras, but that's about it.
I'm glad to find out that it needs to go in the safe....

I got the 12 bolt finished up today. I installed Ford 9 inch housing ends so I won't have to use c-clip eliminators. Length of the housing is 49 1/4" which will give me a length of 54" drum to drum. I also put in the 1" pinion offset. This set up will let me use a 15" x 8" with 4 1/4" backspacing. We done the same set up on the red Vega wagon pictured above.

I just got back from dropping off the Vega at the media blasters. They will be doing the jambs, engine compartment, etc.
I'll post pictures as soon as I get it back.
I also made a cool tool today for removing door hinge pins. I posted details and pictures in the "Best of", "tools and tips" section.

The rear looks great!! Question about your buddys car if you dont mind. The heator core box on the firewall,,I noticed he had extended the tubes. Did he just use copper tubing and solder some extensions in?? Mines very close to the box and need extended.

The heater core is the one that came in the car. But someone had replaced the original at one time. We were wondering if his is a heater core from an A/C car. I never looked at mine close before I sold all the A/C stuff off of my car.
