Did he just use copper tubing and solder some extensions in?? Mines very close to the box and need extended.

The vega core would have had the tubes extend from a narrower part of the heater core cover. When reversed The tubes do not extend past the thicker area of the cover. A Monza heater core is just a vega core with longer tubes. He probably just extended the vega core's tubes.

No. We didn't extend the tubes. That core was in the car when he bought it. At some point someone had replaced the original, as one of the core retaining brackets was missing. I'm not sure what the core is from, but it's the exact dimensions of a factory Vega. Other than the longer tubes that were installed when the core was built. They have not been soldered or welded on in any way......one piece.

Hi,
it would be great to know which core that was for those of us doing a v8 changeover.

I'm starting to wonder if someone was a little more generous with the tubing the day that core was getting made in Mexico.

I got the LS6 spec. short block put together today. I'll install the roller when I get my timing set in. Waiting for Bobby Myers @ Performance Automotive to finish up the ZL1 heads and the engine will be done. 8)

I picked up these Mark 10 ignition boxes yesterday. These boxes were used on the later Motion cars. Somewhere around 70-71 and later? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but everything I have seen at this point indicates this. You could still get the Jacobs style box, but for some reason they switched to these.

These are from Ebay. Delco Jac Pac Air Shocks. Until I get lucky and find a set of Hurst, I'll use these. I'm having a hard time trying to justify 200.00 plus for Hurst.

Finally got the car back from the blaster and now have it sealed. Rust free bodies are worth every dollar you pay.
I hope to get back on it in the next few weeks.

I finally got the car blocked down and have worked on and improved the fender to door fitment. Slide hammer works good for leveling the panels to each other.
Also managed to get the right side door gaps tig welded and evened up. After a few more adjustments, I will get started on the body filler when I get back from vacation. I'll post some pictures shortly.

I'm a little late on this but Speedway Motors has a front motor mount for $49.99 , says 65 - 94 , don't look like the ears come up as high as yours though , I bought one a long time ago to put a S.B. in a 54 Chevy and it was plenty strong . You do some realy nice fab work , I like that old school look your going for .
