I found out if you request cad coated calipers, the parts store can order them. Looks much better than painted.
The original rubber supports for the E-brake cables were in terrible shape, so I made new ones today.

Missed this post. Thanks for posting the link.

Finally have made some time to start working on the car again. Putting the doors together and getting them on, cleaned all the interior plastic and am going to get started painting those pieces in the next bit. Ordered the carpet and some other small pieces for the interior. I figure since the engine is on hold for a while, I will go ahead and get the rest of the car together from the doors back.

They look to be in great shape. Just need to paint them the correct color.

The bars have the original paint under the black.
The rubber bumpers look like they have never had any load applied to them. Not sure if they have ever been used.

Maybe these pictures will help. They bolt in place of the lower control arm. The template that came with the original instructions shows where the extra bolt hole needs to be drilled for the third bolt.
If you look at the front view of the bars, you can see the adjustment/contact points.
Also, the bars I bought have never been used. After looking at them better, the sides of the bushing sleeves still have the paint on them and the inside of the sleeves are still painted with no scratch marks from bolts being installed.

Finally working on the car again. The seats have been covered and are ready to install. After the engine is installed for the final time, I will get the seats in as well as the rest of the interior. All the plastic pieces have been painted also.

Looking nice Tracy....Interested in knowing how the Ansen grabbers work out...Assuming they are designed to stop wheel hop and produce a good bite?

Can't believe it's been 8 months since I've had an update to report. We've built a new shop and haven't had any time to work on the car for awhile.
After we get moved in over the next couple of weeks, I hope to get back to work on it.

The Lee Shepherd L88 heads are toast. After we ran the engine back in Oct. 2013, we discovered a couple of old repairs had cracked after we were finished.
Some time ago we finally got around to repairing them and ran it again a few weeks ago. Again, after we were finshed, two different spots cracked. After deciding to stop throwing good money after bad, we found a virgin set of LS6 rectangle port heads and have since installed those and ran it a third time.
Final numbers were 562 h.p. and 484 ft lbs.

Will pick up the engine this week and hopefully get it in after we open up the new shop location. :D
