I tossed some old wheels on and rolled the junkyard dog out of the garage.

That last pic shows me what I need to do with my a-pillar tube , let it run along the pillar more and put another bend at the top . Your halo looks about the same position as mine . Although I'm not going through my dash with the a-pillar tube , I did just one bend by the dash , I'll do less bend by the dash and one bend at the top to bring it over to the halo and maybe it will not be in my view so much .
Keep the pics coming :th:

Yea, I was really happy with how that turned out. I hate it when the tube comes clear out into the line of site.

I used a sacrificial strap around the halo and shoved the halo up as far as I could and welded it to the main hoop. I then put the dash bar in and ran it all the way across the car, and then welded it to the body. What you cant see in the pic is that I split the a-pillar tube , the upper portion is bent, and if you use 1 5/8 diameter tube it will suck into the sheetmetal stamping of the pillar. The lower portion (from the dash bar to the floor) is a straight tube.

FYI It is accepted by NHRA to split the a-pillar tube as long as they are not offset on the dash bar, they must be in line.

O.K. I see it now that I went back through your posts on page 5 . The straight on shot of the header tubes shows a good shot of your cage at the dash , you have a straight piece from the frame up and the dash bar lays on top of that and then your a-pillar goes off the top of the dash bar ? My problem is I don't want to cut my dash , get close enough to the body as to try to hide it plus use all the stock interior pieces . I think if I do 2 bends instead of 1 I'll get it to fit better , the second bend at the top like yours .

you got it, if you want to keep stock type interior/dash that would not work, but you will be able to figure out something that looks good, post up pics as it comes together!

Hey thanks, maybe if I keep practicing for another 20 years or so I may be a master fabricater like this guy I know who works for Overkill race cars. this is my first build so 99% of the time i have no idea what i am doing and just start sticking stuff together and hope for the best
