Like I said I was going to go buy it, so I had my insurance guy run the plate #. That got me a printout with the VIN # 3D07VAetc.
Registered owner: Ryan Breen

State data:
transfer date 2/17/11
release of liability received date 3/3/11
sell price $500
Buyer: Rick Deigwan
There's nothing more current than that so no sale has been reported to CA yet.
The car has passed smog here 7 times since '97 so that engine must be in good shape. You can sell it for whatever that's worth.

Thanks for the info. I just got off the phone with the guy I bought it from and he said the paperwork was mailed out on Thursday. I should see it tomorrow or Tuesday. The broker who's lot it was on accidently put it back up on craigslist.

Great to hear. Now you'll have to come up with a new Olds screen name.

Here are a few pics of my car in my driveway!! The air blows cold!! It has a reclining drivers seat, an O2 sensor?? and the original inflatabile spare with C02 container and original jack in place. Where can I find the build sheet? How can I decode this car? It says SX above the starfire on the fender and it is a 3D07.

On both of my Monzas the build sheet was under the carpet, drivers side in front of drivers seat,
Bad thing is if it has the sound deadening it could be under it as my 80 has and the deadening material ruined it.

Bill for what its worth, that 1977 astre i bought from vegawagon here on the hbody forums had the build SHEET under the gas tank...err well it was on TOP of the gas tank.. didnt even know what it was until i pulled the tank and was like, WTF is this scrap piece of paper? then holy cow! lol it had the original features/build that the car came with and it funny enough as i bought the car from AZ, it was actually first delivered to Sharidon motors in minnesota. I have the car in minnesota now working on it! lol The damn car came full circle i guess!

Thanks

I picked up the engine today. It's an 06 L33 5.3L. This has an aluminum block that can be bored to 3.90 which is the LS1 bore size. It has the good 799 heads and puts out about 315 hp. I need to swap oil pans, intake and front brackets.
