Hello, I am new to this site but have found a lot of useful information since then. I have a 1978 monza that I purchased about 8 years ago after a divorce. I guess I wanted to relive my youth again.I have been involved with motorsports of one kind or another since i was about 10. If it burned fossil fuels I was excited. Anyway I bought a chevy monza cause I wanted something different, not a camaro, chevelle, nova, you get the idea. I located this monza in pa. made the deal, picked it up and proceeded to take it apart. I installed a 6 point cage, subframe connectors and located a new fiberglass cowl bolt on hood in canada. I went to Bob Gumm and picked up the spacers I needed, hit the local junk yards and found s10 axles and spindles. So I did the 5 lug conversion. I replaced all tie rods, ball joints, rotors, calipers brake hoses, shocks and so on. The front end has been completed. the rear was a 7.5 with 3.73 gears and a posi unt so I installed new bearings and seals and a t/a rear cover hoping for the best. I installed boxed trailing arms that have steel and brass bushing.Thats where it just sat inside for the past 6 years. Life keeps going with or without your input. Recently I decided it was time to get back at it. The car had a 350 in it when i purchased it but it was only a 2 bolt. I wanted a 4 bolt. So I found a 4 bolt standard bore block and sent it out to my local speed shop for the usual machining. I had it bored, honed, line bored, decked and so on. I bought a rotating assembly with forged flat top pistons. The bottom end is together waiting on the aluminum heads. I have sent out the chassis to a local body shop to be painted. Rust wise this car didnt have a whole lot. I needed to weld in some patch panels in the floor and under hood by the left shock tower but besides that its good. I hadnt taken a lot of pics during this process but here are a few. Oh and thanks Clyde. I have some new door pins with his help.
