I did all this work on the dash awhile ago use Autogage 1 1/2 size. Take a dremel with the rough doughnut bit and enlage the hole you have to remove mostly from the top. Once you get it to slide in you can do the same idea to the metal cover you'll have to have a couple of the doughnuts, go slow and mark with a pencil wher you want to take off material.

you could swap the oil pressure gauge for the fuel gauge ,and put a red bulb in the hole next to the oil gauge and have a light also.just wire the light into a sender thats what i have in my wagon. check out pictures in garage http://home.comcast.net/~philipionta/106_1275.jpg

I see what you did. I've been thinking basically the same thing I can also add little led's to the outer face for oil water and volts. I just need to y the retun from the sending unit

I didn't mention either that all the gauges are electric I'm not a big fan of mechanical gauges

sorry to bug you i know you are documenting your dash mods at the present time but curiousity killed the cat, what are the brackets with the bump stops on the forward side of your axles? i have nothing like these on either axle that has been in my car. do they have anything to do with controlling axle hop? and could you post a pic of where they contact the car? thanks!

I didn't put the brackets but they just duplicate what's stock. They don't look like they will contact til the suspension is bottomed out. Just my observations I'm outta state for about the next month so no pics for now :th:
